Drumgoon retain Intermediate status
Drumgoon 1-16 Belturbet 0-11 Drumgoon senior men deservedly retained their Intermediate status for another year. Played on a lovely sunny evening in Ballyhaise before a large attendance, Drumgoon approached this game with a very positive outlook right from the start and deservedly led for most of the way. Belturbet did make it hard for themselves having a man sent off on a straight red following a foul on Keith Fannin. Drumgoon were the hungrier team throughout and were first to the ball on all occasions. The goal came in the first half from an inform corner forward Shane Smith. At half time Drumgoon led by 1-4 to 0-5. In the second half driven on by the Moynagh brothers in particular, Drumgoon piled on the scores. As they pushed forward even the defenders got on the scoresheet with Darragh Lynch (2) and Donal Keappock shooting over.
